I and others have brought up another reason. Cheaters. Say I am playing a game 
with a normal 6 sided die online live with other players. I can edit my 
module before joining to make my six sided die button always roll 2-6 instead 
of 1-6, or worse, add a button for each desired die roll (one button that 
always rolls 1-1, 2-2, 3-3, 4-4, 5-5,6-6) completely removing the random 
element all together. Being able to request a hash of the module and all 
exetentions loaded to so that you can compare them and ensure they are not 
running any extra modules would help with this. (I know this is not in the 
spirit of the game, nor open source, but it can happen)
