There is however at least one leading purveyor of image software which formerly had its LZW routines passworded until the purchaser also obtained a license from Unisys but has now lifted that requirement and removed the password. I'm not aware of any limitations on where their software can be bought or used and if they ain't worried then I for one won't worry either. But as Shawn says even if there is the tiniest risk then it's up to the individual to make their own choice. Regards Ian
