Hi JD,
- snip - >Which tells me it is a software problem intrinsic to rdesktop >and the remote vbox guest. >Do you first have to make the guest vbox on the remote machine >grab the mouse before you can control it via the rdesktop? >Something to try anyway! I did it in following 2 ways 1) Applications -> System Tools -> Sun Virtual Box On host console run; $ rdesktop -a 24 -N 192.168.0.200:3389 2) On host console-1 $ VBoxHeadless -startvm "vm-name" On host console-2 $ rdesktop -a 24 -N 192.168.0.200:3389 Both ways came to the same result, 2 mouse pointers on rdesktop window. Now, JD and folks, I followed the steps on; Installing the Linux Guest Additions http://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch04.html#id2522712 to install Guest-additions I'm running 64bit Ubuntu 9.10 on this VM under testing. They already have both /usr/lib and /usr/lib64 directories created. I think maybe the manual outdated. Test Results 1) Good news - Copy and Paste works 2) Terrible news On console - typing - very slow response on key stroke. Typing a word of 10 characters the time is almost sufficient taking a cup of coffee. Maximize a sunk icon on bottom bar the window popup is transparent. I have to wait for long time before I can read the window again. Conclusion: Better forget it.
