I like to point out one other thing which is that virtual box doesn't really
work well with speech recognition. I don't try to drive the user interface is
speech cause I know better. What I'm talking about is running speech
recognition
in a virtual machine. For example, host Linux, guest Windows 7,
NaturallySpeaking inside of guest.

For a brief period of time when VM Ware workstation good audio right, speech
recognition inside of a virtual machine was great. It really worked well, much
better than a native install. virtual box has never done audio right. It's
full
of gaps in noises that ruin speech recognition. Yes I filed the bug report (I
think) any moons ago but nothing was done because there were more important
problems.

I suspect it would be really hard to make audio replicate across virtual
machine
boundaries from the host machine to the guest. A very acceptable solution would
be to make USB audio work right. Today, you hear lots of gaps. I don't know if
it's packets getting lost or what but in the 2.0 series, it was really in rough

shape. I haven't tried the three series because I've not heard anything that
said the audio input on USB was improved. If I missed it, let me know I'll be
glad to run some tests.

thanks
