I am using the non OSE version of VirtualBox version 3.8.2, under Ubuntu 10.04 AMD64. I have a ISB to serail port convertor set up, on a Sun V40. Under Ubuntu this device shows up as /dev/ttyUSB0. I need to make this serial port be avaialbel to XP runiing as a VM.
In the VB GUI setup screen, I have enabled serail port 1 set the prt number to comm1, set the port Mode to host device, and set the port file path to /dev/ttyUSB0. When I start the software that needs the serial port on the XP instnace, it does not present me with any valid serial port choices.
