Thanks for your response Michael.

Do I infer, as per your response, that what is finicky is the XP
clipboard, but that things were somewhat fixed in Win7?? Or does win7
share the same problem?.

I' d be more than happy to try your suggestion, but sadly my netbook
hard drive took a dive and I lost both my XP SP3 system and the Ubuntu
VM I had setup wiithin it. Since my last backup was a couple months
old, all is gone for good. I am right now using a Fedora Linux LiveCD
booted off a pen drive.

I will, however, attempt to reinstall XP SP3 once I get a new hard
drive, as it worked much better than Win7 on a single-core Atom CPU
with 2Gigs of system RAM.
