'binaries' here is meant in comparison with 'source code' -- you will
find packages containing binaries as well as another package containing
the VirtualBox source code.

The latter is a symbolic link to the former. The symlink was introduced
to make automatic downloading of the extpack for a specific version
easier for the GUI.
