Well, my major concern isn't really throttling network. What I try to reach is
something like a virtualised switched network with connection to the real
hardware world. Assume we have a virtualised nfs-server and several
virtualised clients. Additionally there are some physical clients, too. We
would like to set up something where all virtualised boxes do networking
without the network hardware involved (meaning with bandwith hopefully far
beyond Gigabit) and some physical clients talk to the very same nfs server
through the physical network, but on the _same_ logical subnet. Imagine that
as an interim setup where not all clients are virtualised yet. We do not want
to change the setup of both server and clients to split up into two network
segments. Are there any experiences with this kind of setup?
