I didn't expect installing guest additions to solve your networking
issue; I already explained how to most likely resolve that. As for the
other issues, were there any error messages when installing guest
additions? Did you reboot the guest after installing them? Does doing

lsmod |grep vbox

in the guest show that vbox modules are loaded? I believe the guest
additions installer saves a log file in
/var/log/vboxadd-install.log. Is there anything which looks like a
problem in that file? If your guest additions installed successfully,
you rebooted your guest after installation, and the vbox guest modules
are loaded in the guest, then I can't think of anything else that
would be causing the issues you have, other than the networking issue.
