I have a MacBook 12" dual-core m7 with 8GB RAM, and macOS Big Sur 11.6. It
was running VB 6.1.16 r140961. When I saw this post, I thought, "Update?
Why not!" and updated to  VB 6.1.26 r145957. This works, too, though I had
to reauthorize it in System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> General,
"Allow apps downloaded from:".

As a caution, I rarely use VirtualBox anymore, not since Microsoft dropped
IE support and I can use Edge/Chromium. I have no Windows apps installed in
my VMs.
