Yea, both ways have its use, depending on if you want to just check some
program in VM instead of putting the crap on the main os, or do some
real work in the VM. I had a memory overflow crash with vmware some days
ago during heavy database operations inside the guest. The result was a
completely destroyed db which was not fun at all, so I prefer the
preallocate way more.
