Hey there

I used to DJ a lot with my laptop. Now I installed Ubuntu and Virtual Box
(which is AMAZING). I run WinXP as a guest system with my DJ software.
It seems like the OSS Drivers introduce lots of latency. When I pause a song
it takes about 0.5 seconds until it actually mutes. For a DJ not really
acceptable...
So I hooked up my hercules DJ Console via USB which has an internal
soundcard and use the device in the guest system. But if I tell my DJ
software to send the 4 sound channels through the DJ Console (use it as a
soundcard) the sound is totally chopped appart (sound for about 20 ms, no
sound for 20ms, sound for 20 ms ... and so on). I guess it is probably
because the bandwidth of the USB Port via host System is to small?

Do you have any suggestions what I could do?
Do you know if this will be fixed any time soon? :)

Thank you very much for for your help

Oh and before I forget: VirtualBox is amazing - I couldnt believe that USB
is supported even if there are no drivers for that hardware under linux -
wow, incredible!

With best regards
