ok, subsequently, i realized i dont have to download it either. It already exists in the distribution. Here is how to make it show up on a guest OS.
- open virtualbox interface - select your Virtual machine - click on "Settings" menu item for the virtual machine - click "CD/DVD ROM" tab - Check "Mount CD/DVD ROM" - Click the "ISO Image file" (i had the Host CD/DVD selection so on the guest, it always showed the host cd. - the default path is selected and contains the guest additions stuff. - its somewhere in your installation directory " C:\Program files\..."
