ok, subsequently, i realized i dont have to download it either. It already
exists in the distribution.
Here is how to make it show up on a guest OS.
* open virtualbox interface
* select your Virtual machine
* click on "Settings" menu item for the virtual machine
* click "CD/DVD ROM" tab
* Check "Mount CD/DVD ROM"
* Click the "ISO Image file" (i had the Host CD/DVD selection so on the
guest, it always showed the host cd.
* the default path is selected and contains the guest additions stuff.
* its somewhere in your installation directory " C:\Program files\..."

There isn't any link that I know of, just download a package
from the
web site and use an archive manager program to extract the ISO
from
there. I did this to get the 1.3.6 additions ISO for use with
VirtualBox
OSE on Debian. I downloaded the Etch .deb file and used GNOME
file-roller to pull the additions ISO out of the .deb package.
