For the record: Even the 1.5.0 OSE version has host networking. The difference is that, with OSE, we don't distribute the helper scripts to setup host networking during boot, mainly bringing up the network interface and reserving the interface for a specified user with tunctl. This is necessary for Linux 2.6.18 AFAIR. This can even be done manually with the OSE version, but this is the task of the distributor (Mandriva in this case, they did a great job of integrating the VBox host and guest kernel modules into their distribution btw).
