Hello Flavio,

Yes, this is because when the guest writes to the disk and then frees
that space, VirtualBox has no way of knowing that it has been freed, so
it does not remove it from the file.  The only space that VirtualBox
really knows is free on the disk is space that has never been written to
(or if I recall correctly blocks filled with zeros).
