You are obviously running a 32-bit Windows version on your AMD64
machine which is fine. For 32-bit Windows you have to install the
x86-version of VirtualBox.
To install the guest additions for your Linux/Fedora guest you
have to execute
sh /media/VBOXADDITIONS_1.6.2_31466/VBoxLinuxAdditions.run
as root. The .exe application contains the guest additions for
Windows guests. Please have a look at the user manual section
4 and section 4.3 for further details.
After many tries, this is the procedure I ended up pursuing. I still
have been unable to get the VBoxLinuxAdditions.run to execute -- but I will
not stop trying.
I still would like to get a compatible version of Solaris to download.
That's what I was trying to accomplish in the first place.
Can you explain a little bit more in detail what does not work? What
happens if you try to execute
sh /media/VBOXADDITIONS_1.6.2_31466/VBoxLinuxAdditions.run
as root from your Linux guest? Note that the installation procedure for
Solaris guests is a little bit different.
Response is "no such file or directory"
I ran: ls -al and get no return except .hal-mtab
