The wonderful thing about virtual machines is that they can be copied and backed up and restored and all sorts of things like that. No antivirus is 100%... no antivirus is even %50. The drawbacks of antivirus far outweighs the advantages. Factor in the fact that we are talking about a virtual machine and the solution becomes obvious -- streamline recovery processes and run without antivirus.
