AVG on windows PCs

On another box I played with Microsoft VirtualPC

Guest XP Pro, Host XP, Knoppix.  Windows boxes with AVG.  This is a
production PC.

I would suggest not using antivirus at all.  The wonderful thing about
virtual machines is that they can be copied and backed up and restored
and all sorts of things like that.  No antivirus is 100%... no antivirus
is even %50.  The drawbacks of antivirus far outweighs the advantages.
Factor in the fact that we are talking about a virtual machine and the
solution becomes obvious -- streamline recovery processes and run
without antivirus.  Good computing habits are also highly advised.
