Package 'virtualbox-3.0' is not installed and no info is available.
Use dpkg --info (= dpkg-deb --info) to examine archive files,
and dpkg ==contents (= dpkg-deb --contents) to list their contents.

I quote from my original message (simply because I wrote it from my best
notes, including the actual diagnotic messages, as best I could see
them!) --

I have just taken the http://download... link offered above. {That refers
to your message announcing the availability of version 3.0.6 -- My
original message was a "Reply" to that message of yours.} Because I am
running Kubuntu Jaunty as a 32-bit system, I chose the next-to-last
(Ubuntu Jaunty x86) option. Next I chose to use KPackageKit. The product
downloaded quickly. Eventually, I was asked if I want to install, and I
chose the Install option.

Now I have three dialogue boxes on my screen. The title-bar of the first
says "Installing file - KPackageKit". There is a large bold "Finished"
message immediately above what I would normally consider to be a
"progress meter". It has a large blue button which is simply going back-
and-forth along the "meter" area. The button-options (below the "meter")
are "Details", "Hide", and "Cancel"; "Hide" is active.

The title-bar of the second dialogue box says "An internal system error
has occurred - KPackageKit". There is a warning symbol (exclamation-mark
within triangle), the message "A problem that wee were not expecting has
occurred. Please report this bug with the error description." There are
two buttons -- "Details" and "OK". When I tried "Details" -- to make
this report more usable! -- my system "hung"; I lost ALL control, and
NOTHING would happen!

The final dialogue box simply declared that "An error has occurred." And
it covered-up the other two!

I felt (and continue to feel) VERY "frustrated" by the fact that I could
NOT offer ANY details of substance because i know that such details are
your best tools for figuring out what has happened and how to best
respond to the existing situation. However, when I sought out those
details, I was "stopped cold". I have not yet made another attempt to
do the (download and) installation task.
