I'd rather suggest to use the VDR standard to compose the Makefile:
VDRDIR = ../../..
...
-include $(VDRDIR)/Make.global
-include $(VDRDIR)/Make.config
...
INCLUDES += -I$(VDRDIR)/include
I followed Rofa's suggestion, and this way it compiles nicely for 1.7.15
(and seems to work, too).
