Often around here motivation comes down to an itch that needs
scratching. Me, I've only had a few Velocity itches, one resulted in
about 6 poorly written lines of code that Nathan polished and stuck into
the VelocityLayoutServlet, another in some documentation updates, and
I've done a few of the pretty pictures/logos.
So what's your itch? :-)

The biggest itch I have had is not being able to compare any primitive
in a #if. My work around to this point has been to put the primitive in
a string in my model and test the string equality. Not elegant!! :(
So, that would be an area that I would like to contribute to, if the
team as a whole sees that as something we could put into a future release.
However, for the time being, I am digging through the code to get a
familiarity and hopefully knock out some bug fixes. :)
