ok, so i understand that this has been discussed fairly extensively in the
past, so i won't go into much, but...
first) I fell that if we move to the 1.4, we might as well use the
java.logging as default as it reduces the depencies needed.
second) The advantage of a static logging class is simply loggers don't need
to be passed arround, held on to, or unnessicallary created (say i remove
the logging of the even, but don't remove the logger).
