Yes.  Think of this like insurance.  You are correct to reason that it
is *much* better to be healthy or to not crash your car.  And I agree
with you that most people do believe that the ASF projects don't crash
their cars as often as SF projects.

But when they crash, that insurance of a CVS tag was pretty darn
useful and puts you well ahead of the person without the insurance...
