Question for the group. Central lines fall out--with our removal using aseptic technique--Bad things do not happen.
MD' s also remove central lines by just placing a sterile gauze over the site and pulling.--Bad things do not happen So is it over kill for nursing to clean the site prior to removal? We do not do this for peripheral IV. Naturally a agree with all other aspects such as preventing air embolism and occlusive dressing until the site has healed. Thanks, Deb
