I have been out of homecare for about 4 yrs now, but prior to that, worked for 3 different home infusion companies.  All three loved to get IVIG patients, they were long term and profitable.  Of course, getting product was the hardest challenge, and we often had to have orders to change the brand they were getting to the brand we could get.  We always gave it via a pump over 2-4 hours depending on the patients history and dose.  A nurse would be present throughout the infusion, and vital signs were usually taken q15 mins for the first hour then q30 or q60 after that.  Usually given via PIV, started prior to the dose then D/C after the dose.  Almost always mixed in the home unless we found a liquid because of stability issues.  We made sure that the pt had an anaphylactic kit available for reactions and a working phone, in case of a reaction post infusion.
