I've gotten many e-mails of support and it has been
very encouraging. I have not and still do not intend to ask for
subscriptions. I'm hoping our advertisers will pay the way. It has been
more of an ordeal than I expected, but I must be an idiot because I'm married to
a contractor (another 200 bucks, another 2 weeks) and still didn't anticipate
this. I also must say that it's not me that's made the list
successful. When I started the website project I looked for
other listservs and website and they're not up to par from what I've seen.
I realized that we got very lucky when we got the great contributors we have on
our listserv. I can only hope they and you lurkers will carry it on after
the move.
Well, as you know we're behind schedule but it
really is coming. I was hoping within a week, but I found some bugs today
that might set us back some more. It depends on the programmer. As
for the conflicts over the past week I'm very sorry you all got dragged into
it. Let's just keep on truckin'. I'll inform you all as soon as the
site is up and running.
Thanks for all your support!
Sarah

Subject: Re: A bit more on the simple
inquiry
Whew. Well, I am usually more of a
"lurker" but I do occasionally chime in. I was not even aware there was
another vascular list serve. I am not sure I still really understand,
however I am not sure I would want to join now even if I knew how. I
read this listserve faithfully and have read the emails about this being
converted to a website sometime in the future. Does anyone know when
that will occur? Will there be instructions posted here as to how to go
to the website and use it? I really enjoy the emails too, as I work
contract and feel I have a "peer group" on the listserve. I haven't seen
anything clear cut in regards to fees. I will say that I for one would
be willing to contribute to whoever the appropriate person/persons is/are to
help cover any costs. I feel this information is extremely
valuable and have learned much from this service. I think it is a great
idea for any professional group as a way to share ideas and bounce things off
other people in their field, so could understand some entrepreneur individual
setting up other similar sites/lists as a way to make a little money. We
pay for journals, etc and those are ways for us to keep our knowledge
base up to date, and they don't talk back to us. This format is so
special. I don't know Sarah, but certainly appreciate what she has done
for all of us. The discussions do get lively at times, but it is
entertaining as well as educational! Websites aren't free, and they do
take time to maintain. I don't think anyone should be banned unless the
reason was very well justified. I don't know the politics behind all
this. But I certainly want to thank the appropriate people for
putting this together and maintaining it for all of us. Is there a way
to set up an account for those of us who would like to contribute to do
so? That might be an idea, and it could be voluntary. I know
such things can be set up through paypal accounts. Or just sending a
check in the mail. What ever....
Please post any information that would be
helpful for the faithful readers who want to keep in touch. And thanks
to all of you for enriching my practice and making me a thoughtful more
knowledgeable practioner!!
Sincerely,
