Same here.  We look at pt's allergies, always have an ANA kit available and must have a 911 system.  We have had pt's have mild allergic reactions-itching. redness, hives, but fortunately no true anaphalytic reaction

We are a hospital based home care agency and do first dose atb regularly.  We have a first dose policy that includes triage identifying high risk patients and in 11 years of service we have NEVER had an incident we were not prepared to handle.

Hey all!

I was asked to get info on First dose administration of antibiotics.  Who out there is in the home care or alternate site arena who can help me out???

Also what issues should I be prepared to address besides the obvious anaphylaxis????

Thanks for your help!
