Gauze and tape is an acceptable covering, it just needs to be changed every
24-48 hours. You can also try changing brands, OpSite, Coverderm or a cover
with hydrocolloid may all work.

Try Covaderm.  It is a combination dressing with a transparent dressing 
built in.  Ask for some samples.   The only problem is that it does not have

a window so you can't observe the dressing.
