Sometimes the sensitivity is due to the skin not being completely dry at
the time the dressing is placed, Make sure the skin is dry. I have
found using a skin barrier/protectant also helps. If there is one in
the kit and it is not working try the 3M NO STING ( in a spray and a
swab) it is WONDERFUL and has saved me from going to a different
dressing many times. Make sure you are using the 3M product not the
other No Sting Product.

I have a patient that is very, very sensitive to the Tegaderm that we
use to cover the PICC and statlock. Does anyone have any suggestions
for what other type of occlusive dressing that can be used, because
the
home health nurses decided to put gauze and paper tape over the PICC
and
statlock

THanks in advance--G.G.
