I am having trouble understanding conceptually what the bookmarks
represent in the sidebar. Are they local copies or are the revisions
on the server or both?

The behavior I am having trouble understanding is that if I try to run
diff, it doesn't work unless I have a local copy of both files. This
is understandable behavior. However, if I re-checkout a revision I
have perviously deleted locally, Versions doesn't recognize it when I
try to compare diffs.

To be clear, diff only works if the original copy a revision is on my
machine. It will not work otherwise. Is this normal subversion
functionality?
Do you always have to keep all bookmarks on your local machine and
never delete them?

I've been looking all over for the answer to this question with no
luck, hopefully someone here can straighten me out. This problem is
quite possibly due to my limited understanding of svn.

If there is a reference or documentation that can help me please let
me know, I hate to waste space asking for obvious answers.

Thanks,
Corey
