Hey Corey, > I am having trouble understanding conceptually what the bookmarks > represent in the sidebar. Are they local copies or are the revisions > on the server or both?
There are two types of bookmarks. Repository bookmarks and Working copy bookmarks. The repository bookmarks represent your full repository. If you click on them you can view your complete repository layout. Working copy bookmarks are bookmarks are bookmarks that represent a checkout (thus, working copy) on your local system which is linked to one of your repository bookmarks. > The behavior I am having trouble understanding is that if I try to run > diff, it doesn't work unless I have a local copy of both files. For diff you can simply use the path of your working copy. > To be clear, diff only works if the original copy a revision is on my > machine. It will not work otherwise. You can delete them and re-add them at any time but versions requires you to move files either in the versions browser or with the svn command line. Since it's a GUI product having a bookmark to the working copy seems pretty inherent to the task at hand;-) > I've been looking all over for the answer to this question with no > luck, hopefully someone here can straighten me out. Unfortunately there isn't any versions documentation yet but the group represents most off the problems people incurred in the past. Plus you can always post here right:-) > If there is a reference or documentation that can help me please let > me know, I hate to waste space asking for obvious answers. No worries. > Thanks, > Corey > > --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Versions" group.
