OK, I read over most of it. Sounds like 'think-tank' output. No discernable threats until realities are established. A lot of it was stating the obvious- taken from the Discovery Channel I guess.
Can we have a non-political discussion now between flyfishermen? Is there anything of particular note (page?) that fishermen would find objectionable? i.e. Something I should hilight? i.e. Topic for discussion? What did you see that you liked that isn't already being accomplished or is at least a part of priorities at state and local levels? I couldn't find anything specific enough to reflect a threat, other than 'who's in control in the future and what are their objectives?' And I guess, the obvious: If it's fed. government managed, the question arises: "Can they do a better job with that than they have with dozens of other major issues they've...uhhh... 'managed'?" (That's a non-partisan comment.) And then: "On top of everything else that's theres only wet-ink money available for, who's going to pay for it?" And then: "Is this Federalization of local functions that should be handled at state levels?" "Can they do a better job than the locals?" "Will the locals give up on tough management issues and say 'Great, you want to manage- You handle it now.'" Other implications may be there- 'one too many fish' and it's a local fine, or 'one too many fish and it's a federal crime'. Or...'don't steam your felt-soled wader-boots after fishing and you'll find yourself arrested by the FBI and be in federal court for violation of the 'federal river cross-contamination endangerment act.' What can we or have we learned from the past experiences about where this could lead us with our fishing 'rights or privileges'? "I don't feel any more threatened than usual." Don, It is 38 pages long, so it is too much to summarize here, but basically if you are a fisherman, or duck hunter for that matter, and live within 100 miles of a coastline, you should be lighting the cigars, popping the champagne, and slapping each other on the backs because for the first time since Teddy Roosevelt the government is siding with hunters and fisherman instead of lobbyist backed corporations. http://www.whitehouse.gov/assets/documents/09_17_09_Interim_Report_of_Task_Force_FINAL2.pdf On Mar 10, 1:41 pm, "Don Ordes" <[email protected]> wrote: > I agree with both you and Allen. > > I also want to keep politics off of the VFB- period. > > But i would also like to learn if this legislation will affect future casts. > End of story. > > Nothing political.
