I think that we are getting unnecessarily technical by trying to define equivalent and don't forget that you have a link to Dyna-King. 1) Value - I recently saw one for sale brand new, not secondhand on ebay for $129.95. To my way of thinking, it represented excellent value in this day and age. The normal price is approx $144.66 with free shipping. 2) While it may not be as visually attractive as the Renzetti, HMH or Dyna-King Barracuda, Barracuda Jnr or Trekker it appears to be well made. 3) It has a full range of extra as do both the Renzetti and Dyna-King such as saltwater or midge jaws, bobbin cradle, waste catcher etc. 4) The reports that I have read indicate that the standard jaws hold the hook well. Obviously, if one ties very large or very small flies, one should use the most suitable jaws. 5) Finally, I believe it does the job just as well as the "equivalent" vises listed above.
