1969. Basic Training at Fort Bragg NC. 150 rifles on the firing line.
About the same time that the sergeant gives the OK to fire, a buzzard
floats across the range about 150 yards out. The buzzard disappears in
a puff of feathers and blood. We had to low crawl out there and recover
whatever pieces we could find.

I lived in Alabama and I understand some of those sayings but how
