I never did figure how to use it either though I have seen it used. Have no 
intention on learning how to use it now. I give credit to those that know how 
to use it.

Been tying for 35 years and still haven't figured out how to use a Griffin whip 
finisher.  Materelli for smaller flies and presentation finishes, hand whip for 
larger flies.
