Chuck,
You can use an eraser to strip some  quills.Ir just carefully pull the barbs
downward off the quill.
It takes longer to get stripped quills but you don't have to smell the bleach.

Folks: I need some stripped quills to tie some quill bodied dry flies etc. But
at $3.95 (and UP) for a pack of 24, they are a little expensive. And one tiny
whiff of bleach gives me the worst headaches I have ever had. So, does anybody
either have some they'd trade, or know a place I can buy them for less than
$3.95 per 24?? Thanks, Chuck
