Alan,
Your post on laying down the Moose hair never showed up on my computer so I
will reply here.
I hold the two strands together and lift them side bu side. Apply a but of glue
on the shank and wrap the two strands together side be side the dark strand and
the light strand together. Makes a real nice Mosquito body.
Tony

I have a video by AK best and he addresses this very issue. I'll try and find
the place on the video, re-watch it, and post how he does it to get them to lay
down correctly, Chuck

I tried to use the Moose mane but could not get them to lay properly.

Thank you,

For Mosquitoes, I used light and dark Moose Mane hair. Tied in both lengths of
hair with one behind the other. Wrapped them together at the same time on the
shank giving me the alternating colors for the body.

Chuck:

A couple of years ago I was in a swap and tied some Mosquitos.

I took a smallish grizzly hackle and pulled all the bards off both sides
and used it for a quill body.
CHEAP and functional.

Thank You,
Alan Di Somma

Folks: I need some stripped quills to tie some quill bodied
dry flies etc. But at $3.95 (and UP) for a pack of 24, they are a little
expensive. And one tiny whiff of bleach gives me the worst headaches I
have ever had. So, does anybody either have some they'd trade, or know a
place I can buy them for less than $3.95 per 24?? Thanks, Chuck
