Alan,
Try it, you will like it far better than any auto bobbin.
I tried to tie with the Erich bobbin and found it not good for my usage.
I pd $50 for a Nor vise bobbin, could not get the hang of it, sold it
for $25. He ties on a Nor vise.
I have found the best for me in the rite bobbin.

Denny, the choice of RIte, Norbobbin or Ekich bobbin is a matter of
personal preference.
I was given one of Norm's bobbins by a friend. It did take a few tries
to get used to putting the cap on the end before cutting the thread (if
you don't, it rewinds itself completely and then you have to rethread
it). I now like it so well I really don't care to try any other kind.
It's a shame there isn't some place where a person could sit down and
try out all three before they decide which one to buy.
I'm glad to hear the Rite bobbin works well for you.
Best to you.
Al
