It sure is. One day when I was fishing with my buddy in his 10 ft flat bottomed jon boat, I caught 28 fish on the same fly. The last 4 were just a bare hook. Pretty good day of fishing. All with an intermediate sinking line.
Good to hear from you. How is the move going? Thank You, Alan Di Somma Phoenix, AZ. If you can get arrested for hunting or fishing without a license, but not for being in the country illegally ...you might live in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots. The thing I have found , is that you must retrieve most of the line before you can pick up the sinking part. I have sinking tips of several different rates. I also have full sinking line. The sink tips allow you to use your regular floating line and be able to change them while you are fishing. They are usually loop to loop. I use them from my pontoon boat, because the heaver one are so hard to cast. As you are kicking, you just let line out. It is much easier then trying to cast the. Say on a sinking tip line, when you go to re-cast, and the line, leader, tippet and fly are underwater, does that make it real hard to pull all that up and out of the water?? I would suppose that instead of a jerk, you’d just pull smoothly till you got the line back up atop the water, then re-cast as normal right ??? Or wrong?? Do those sinking lines take a while to get used to??
