I use them all of the time & never lost a fish to one coming off. I use a flex cement on the loop & the first inch or two of the loop. I have landed steelhead to 36" and salmon to 32 pounds. The slickest way I have seen is a splice loop in the line, but I have never gotten the knack of making those.
