I agree that C&R has its place. I agree that there are those fisheries that would be total wiped out if it wasn't for the no kill rule. I haven't had a chance to fish any of those that you mentioned, but I would like to one day. All I am saying it that C&R isn't for everywhere. there are a lot of places that culling is needed. True, most are warm water, but if the fish were all left it would get out of hand.
Example, I fish on Lake Hartwell. It has a great population of bass, crappie, catfish, stripers, and white bass. It also has an over abundance of bream. The SCDNR had at one time ASKED for people to keep some to cull the population.
What I am getting at is the fact that we, as fishermen need to know the difference between smart and stupid. On waters that there is no kill regulations, not a problem, on those that don't, I see no harm in a few for the pan (just don't go overboard).
