Chris, The OBU is dun wing and tail with an olive underfur body (all of snowshoe).
The WDU is woodduck wing, tail, and body or woodduck dyed snowshoe hare feet. Think March Brown and Brown Drakes for this pattern. I get my feet at Fred Reese's fly shop. They are great guys and the service is excellent. It is in the US. The Try It is a downwing snowshoe pattern. It is what I consider to be the Elk hair caddis is snowshoe patterns. It is a snowshoe hare underfur body with a wing of snowshoe tied on as you would a elk hair wing even with the little head sticking on (at least on my version. Phillips and Fran Betters are the Usual and Try It gods. My hats off to these guys. I use the same system of tying with antron for my Still Born, Olive Emerger, and several other flies I tie. Really any material can be used this way. I think Jack might of given one of his Soft Hackle Streamers. We have traded several times. The marabou can be spun as a collar instead of a wing. One of my sayings is.
