I generally use the list for my updates, I think there are people out there who are interested in swaps they aren't and like to see how they work. I keep my individual replies offlist as much as possible. But I think it's great for all to read that flies arrived safely and in the case of really great swaps the comments of the swappers. I know it makes for a few extra emails, but think of it this way, what happens if there is a very special fly that you want to tie, can't find the instructions and you missed it because it was off list.
