I had never heard of this trick before, except maybe
for applying glue to thread wraps after tying on lead
wire, etc. I can see where it might help adhere some
materials such as tinsel, floss, etc, bodies if you
tied them on while the varnish was still a little
tacky. Might help hold the fly together out on the
river after a few trout (hopefully) had chewed on it.
