Ed, Now you're making things up. No one ridiculed or 'one-upped' anyone, except you in your letter below, where you referred to us as lacking in class, professionalism, and in manliness. I never sought to make you look bad, just the opposite. I only pointed out that rules are very hard to adhere to, and as Rene pointed out, one must sit the bench and wait for a rise if that is what one considers flyfishing. If a rise never happens, one doesn't get to fish. Go on vacation and stick with that rule- I dare you. But if that's OK with you, more power to you.
So thanks for making my case for me. Those spouting rules are usually the first ones breaking them. Those speaking of class are the first one needing it, and since you're having difficulty talking with us in the 'common crowd' (paraphrased), who is really lacking class here, by your own 'quoted' definition? As far as 'professionality' and 'boys doing small things', you might want to wise up and figure out who you're talking to. And by the way, isn't that a prime example of 'tearing others down' and 'striving to make others look worse'? If you want to 'call them as you see them', look in a mirror first.
