Mike,

I have several inexpensive rods.....my favorite is a little more pricey.  It
is an Orvis that I have broken 3 times in the last 15 years.  The
outfit(rod, reel, line, backing, braided leader and tippet cost me around
$350.  If I had to replace it each time I broke it.....it would be atleast
the same.  The Orvis is a much better rod than the others I own.....it isn't
top of the line(25 yr guarantee)but it has paid for itself more than once.

You will get a lot of my 2 cents worth on this list....it is a good thing.
