The surgery is tomorrow morning at 7:30. Amputation is to be below the knee but the doctors do not know how far up. It depends on how far the infection is.Valerie, Thank you for the update. We continue to hold you and Mark up in prayer as well as the children and other family members. Thank you for your dedication and support to our friend, your husband. He has a very special gift in you. Jimi, Theresa and Amanda Just thought I'd let you know that Mark has talked with his doctors and they think that amputation would be the quickest way for Mark to get home. This is what Mark wants (can you blame him?) It will also relieve the pain that he is feeling. He is also concerned that if he gets sick again it would probably kill him as it almost did this time. Amputation would be below the knee. Dr. Kober is going to measure the oxygen level of his skin to judge how well he will heal. The surgery will probably be next week.
