John,

I use altoids or platic boxes usually used for drops, medicine, bandage or
cigars. Last one is for smoking flies only <G>.
To tag the flies I use small paper tags printed on a computer printer. Avoid
the usage of additional tag ends but stick the flies in the tags directly.

The little zip locks bags are a great idea but work on nymph and streamer
patterns only.
