[VFB] Rod questions

I've asked part of this question before -- but I'd like to hear if anyone else has an opinion.   I need a good fast rod -- one that I can use in saltwater too -- but I don't want to pay a fortune.   Here are the options I've found so far -- I'd appreciate any opinions on them.   An almost new Sage RPL+ 8wt.  $250.   A new Diamondback Saltwater Series 8wt.  $200.   A new St Croix Legend Ultra 8wt. $270.   The Diamondback and Sage are 9ft and the St Croix is 9'9".   I have a Sge VPS -- but I find it isn't fast enough -- especially in saltwater.   Any thoughts -- suggestions?   -Ken-
