I have an RPLB 9wt.  the "B" stands for blank so the rod was finished by someone else.  I like it, but it is not that fast of a rod.  I bought it used a couple of months ago on the VFS auction site, paid $120.  If you are looking for a really fast rod the RPL is not it.  Don't know anything about the others.

I need a good fast rod -- one that I can use in saltwater too -- but I don't want to pay a fortune.
 
Here are the options I've found so far -- I'd appreciate any opinions on them.
 
An almost new Sage RPL+ 8wt.  $250.
 
A new Diamondback Saltwater Series 8wt.  $200.
 
A new St Croix Legend Ultra 8wt. $270.
 
The Diamondback and Sage are 9ft and the St Croix is 9'9".
 
I have a Sge VPS -- but I find it isn't fast enough -- especially in saltwater.
 
Any thoughts -- suggestions?
